One night at a formal event, after being wined and dined, these ladies wanted to express their bold, vibrant, dynamic, and elegant personalities in style with a high-quality brandy that reflected their excellence.

Unfortunately, there were no brandy glasses available, only the traditional beer glass South Africans are used to drinking from, so they ordered brandy in wine glasses with the hope that no one would shame them for their beloved drink of choice. As the waiter served their order, they could immediately feel the judgement of being perceived as common, butch or “lekker” ladies.

They immediately decided that the perception of women and brandy needed to be changed because brandy is actually the most sophisticated drink in the world. The concept of Brandefyn was born with the primary goal of creating the very first high-quality premium pot still brandy in South Africa that is positioned specifically for women and the finer gender.
